Have you seen the ridiculous amount of pay DLC for this game, season pass, extra levels, extra weapons, etc and then they wonder why people pirate games. I’m not short for money as my job pays me way over minimum wage and let’s just say after rent, utils, etc I am left with closer to £2000 a month but even then I still refuse to be ripped over by companies splitting off parts of a game and charging extra for them.

btw if game crash, its because of the latest NVIDIA driver comes with a new vulkan-1.dll version which apparently isn’t fully compatible with ZA4. so if you updated to the new 460 gfx driver, revert back to 457. btw empress cracked only vulcan.exe! not DX12. So start the game using “/Bin/Vulcan.exe”.
Anyway many users in reddit mentionn many problem with Empress crack, so try the solution in top or wait for crack fix.

Got an error during install and due to it being in russian I have no idea what the error even said. All in all this seems like a complete cock up of a release. I think I’ll wait for one of the trusted groups to release/repack it/crack it.

The crack doesn’t work properly. I bought the game months ago on Epic store and it works fine with both vulkan & DX12 on the very latest Nvidia drivers. But when I try to open the game with the crack applied on the EMPRESS version, I get a message popping up with “Please use Epic launcher to start game”. Also, changing the date to 04/12/20 doesn’t help, or any other date for that matter. Will wait for a proper crack! It’s an awesome game for sure!

If you are having issues launching it, try going into local appdata, delete ZombieArmy4 folder and then remove emp.bin from roaming appdata.
Tried the new “crackfix” and the game still complains about the “Please start Epic launcher”. This crack still needs more work ! The change of date doesn’t change a thing. It just won’t boot up no matter what I try. =/

If crack FIX didn’t work work for you, do not run game from SHORTCUT in Desktop, Run the game from Original Directory “\Zombie Army 4\bin\ZA4_vulkan.exe” Run vulkan not other exe.
Or remove shortcut, then go to “\Zombie Army 4\bin\ZA4_vulkan.exe” and creat MANUALLY shortcut of “ZA4_vulkan.exe” to desktop then go to shortcut, right click add this commande line https://pastebin.com/sXcM3qPg

i tried running it from \bin\za4_vulkan but it didnt work even after i delete the app roaming zombie army 4 folder and deleting the emp.bin from the roaming folder.
does it matter if you have the latest geforce driver or should you roll back even now with the crackfix.
all that happens is that the game load a black screen with game cursor but then shuts down and you are back to desktop.

The crack reminds me of the “NFS Heat” crack. Only worked for a handful of people, That said, I really do hope EMPRESS will release a proper crack soon.

To change language open the JSON file with Notepad in the ‘bin’ directory of the game. You can also change profile name from EMPRESS to whatever you like.

crackfix v2 not working, same problem.
The crack works, the error on me was caused by the nvidia driver (460.79).
By the way, RDR2 did not start with this driver either.
The solution for me was to install an earlier driver (452.06).
but what is there you are giving this game a little at a time !! now you can enter the game minus select the character the weapons, press to start the game and the screen freezes !! AMD FX 8320

After you apply the crack fix do not use the old desktop shortcut the game may not start if you do.
Go to the game folder > bin and start the game using ZA4_vulkan after you apply the crack fix.

disabling AntiVirus

everything i tried above didnt work.
i solved it with the “Run Compatibility Troubleshooter” on the “ZA4_vulkan.exe” file
was about to give up cause i did try all the options manually,
only the troubleshooter solved it,
did the Test, it worked, saved the settings, relaunched it again to be sure it’s working and it does.
to everyone with my settings, dont pass on the automatic Compatibility Troubleshooter.
you still have to run the game from the ZA4_vulkan.exe, just create a shortcut to desktop and dont use the old original shortcut.

i got it working and playable now.(before i just got to the menu and when i started campaign it crashed back)
it works with both 457.51 and 460.79 nvidia drivers (no need to reinstall old driver)
the exact steps are like this:
1)delete the folder “zombie army 4” from AppData\Local
2)delete the file emp.dll from the “AppData\Roaming”
3)restart pc
– those 3 steps are important in order for the compatibility to succeed, if you dont do them then
the troubleshooter might not work so you have to start with a “clean slate”
4)run the “Compatibility Troubleshooter” on ZA4_Vulkan.exe (don’t choose manually! use T.S.)
5)test, if returns to desktop continue the troubleshooter and choose first option and windows 8
-now you will get to the game without crashing to windows immediately, however, when you start
the campaign you might crash.
now for the last step so you wont crash when starting the campaign:
6)change the date to Dec’ 04 2020 – this step is important for actually playing
those are the exact steps and if you follow them it will work, dont skip any of them.

if you have applications that require the correct date, like meeting appointments or alarm clocks or whatever it is still a bummer.
also, you have to do the compatibility.
maybe it’s working for some without those needs but i really hope there will be a V3 that will handle those problems.
I have to confirm that this 2nd crackfix works. Tested like 3-4 hours of gameplay. No crash, no glitches and no freezing. I’m using a laptop Gl553VD from asus rog so yeah thanks for the new crackfix v2 ^^. And yeah like pedro said. Just go to the game folder, then bin and start from there za4_vulkan.exe or create a shortcut from that bin to desktop.
One more thing you can use steam emu for zombie army 4 to play multiplayer. GET THEM BOYS GOOD LUCK

1.Lösche Verzeichnis Zombie Army 4 in App Data\Local
2.Lösche Datei emp.dll in App Data\ Roaming
3.Restart
4.Kopieren der Dateien von Crackfix V.2 in den Spieleordner
5.ZA4_vulkanI.EXE im Kompatibilitätsmodus von WIN 8 ausführen lassen.
6.ZA4 Launcher und ZA4_vulkan in Firewall blockiert.
ZA4_vulkan im Spieleordner gestartet und läuft super.
Sorry leider ist Englisch nicht mein Gebiet.in diesen Sinne ein frohes Weinachtsfest und ein gesundes neues Jahr.

first step is to be able to load the game without getting just the cursor and go back to desktop.
once you succeed doing it you might have a problem actually loading the mission.
the solution for that is:
V2 crack, you have to change the date to dec’ 4th
if V2 doesnt work, try V1 crack! the V1 crack actually doesnt need to change the date like V2 and it’s
working to the fullest and ofc it’s bettter than V2.
the thing is, it might be individual to your system, so if you cant load the missions just try the other version of the crack than what you have now.

and do all the steps i told you , deleting folder and file from appdata local and roaming,
Restarting! then compatibility troubleshooter, test (and fail) then choosing first option and windows 8. gl.

if you can run windows7, you can run windows 10
if you won’t quit windows 7 for “any reason”, just make a dual boot windows7-10 on your system

I found the solution, to be able to play it is enough to set the date manually and put it on December 4, 2020. The time does not count. Then start the game as administrator. It works for me and in French.

J’ai trouvé la solution, pour pouvoir jouer il suffit de règler la date manuellement et de le mettre au 4 décembre 2020. L’heure ne compte pas. Lancer ensuite le jeu en administrateur. Cela fonctionne pour moi et en Français.

I’m sorry to say it, but those who say that it works I respect them but it did not work for me, try this way as the video shows and I followed some advice from the fitgirl page but zero result so I almost got to make it work one of several times but the result was a very large blue screen of error and nothing else, so my respects to those who worked, but in my account there is a big zero of working it does not work, if they managed to crack the DX12 version I think there would be best results for all.

Thanks for the hint Vandam I did that a long time ago, I have the latest AMD Revision Number Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.12.1 driver and I reinstalled it twice since my pc made 2 crash to the blue error screen and several attempts I searched google several ways but nothing 7 consecutive times with the same result a blue screen crash saying error I can only wait in case someone on another page or here comes to crack the DX12 or DX11 version
does anyone see it work with mission 5 dlc i.e. alpine blitz?
I have no problem installing & playing the game with Crack Fix 2. Just need to run the game exe inside the launcher folder in your game directory. The only problem is the game will crash every time i minimize to desktop. Anyone have this problem too?

For all who crash the game loading chapter use 1280×760 resolution and shadows options in low and the others video options in medium or high, not ultra. It’s working for me, almost finishing the game without crash or freeze.

It goes to the black screen see the cursor………then “crashes”
But…….if you delete once or twice or even 3 time………the files from local folder “which is the save and the settings”
AND from “roaming’ folder the EMP file………after 2-3 restars of my pc…….the game plays FLAWLLESLY…….i mean……..it”s worth the 3-4 minutes restarts to play 1 hour or above………
I do this…..and i play the game without crashes “ingame”……..OF COURSE you have to copy the saves……..and put’em back in after the 2-3 times doing the above……..
I’ts not that ‘hard” to do it………and it”s easy…….for me it works…..!!!
I delete the files………restart the pc………then run it “where it”s gonna start”………then exiting the game………putting my saves………and “there you go”……….i”m playing it………

After installing and applying crackfix.v2, the game crashed and was asking for Vulkan Runtime Library.
Ran ZA4.exe in the Launcher folder in Main directory.
Select launch with Direct X 12.
Again error ‘ZA4_DX12.exe not found in Bin filder’
In Bin folder make backup copy and rename ZA4_Vulkan.exe to ZA4_DX12.exe.
Run ZA4_DX12.exe and game launches perfectly for me.

Your method initially doesn’t work. But I followed your step to the end and the different is i didn’t run ZA_D12.exe but run the back up file with name as ZA4_Vulkan.exe instead.
just launch the vulkan .exe directly from game location and not from desktop shortcut, worked for me

Make a backup copy of ZA4_Vulkan.exe in the Bin folder.
Rename ZA4_Vulkan.exe to ZA4_DX12.exe.
Next, Run ZA4.exe in the launcher folder and Select ‘Launch with Direct X 12’

I tryed changing date to 4 dec 2020 … worked (all with v2 crack)
Finally try to launch za4_vulkan in windows 7 mode and worked without date change.

were anyone with a AMD FX CPU able to play the game. They said the crack v1 und v2 wont work with a amd fx cpu due an architecture bug in the cpu…..
Game FINALLY works, just Rename ZA4_Vulkan.exe to ZA4_DX12.exe and you’re done.

Come on people some of you are acting like you solved something.. And majority of you are posting the same exact shit over and over.. clearly it hasnt been tested on all combos of CPU and GPUs. Try with older version of AMD graphics card driver software if you are running using amd graphics card. I had same issue on my RX480 so had to switch to the version that was released around Feb 2020 this year when this game was released and that fixed the issue with black screen and crashing

Change your system date back to the Year 2020 and disconnect internet before launching game.
On Crack v2 the game stopped launching for me as soon as 2021 started. Don’t know about v3 as I have already finished the game.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey Everyone it worked also for nvidia users just use the same file ZA4_vulkan copy past it in the same place but just change the name to ZA4_dx12 thats it …….. then lanch the game from the lancher file choose dx12 and booom it works

If the game does not work for you, you need to edit and overwrite the files

copy the first .exe and just rename it,
be careful the uppercase and lowercase letters must be as I wrote, otherwise the game will still crash
